Fire twirlers, exotic animals and culinary fare from more than 50 of the city’s top restaurants await guests at the adult-only, premier fundraiser.
Merrill Lynch is the title sponsor for this year’s Sunset Safari. Guests will travel Zoo pathways and uncover live entertainment from Shake, Shake, Shake, animal surprises more than 50 of the city’s top restaurants, caterers and beverage purveyors, a record number for this event. Located just above the entertainment hub will be The Jungle Lounge, an exclusive experience for patron guests with one-of-a-kind dining, private bar and photo opportunity with one of the Zoo’s animals. Special guest Chef Chuck White, personal chef and friend of Sheryl Crow, will be showcasing recipes featured in the book he co-authored with Crow, If It Makes You Healthy. Patrons will also enjoy the culinary creations of internationally acclaimed Executive Chef David Miller from Service Systems Associates; the Zoo’s retail, concessions and catering partner and sponsors of the patron area.
Sunset Safari kicks off at 6:30 p.m. To prepare for the event, the Zoo will be closing at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6. Tickets are $150 for the main event and $250 at the patron level. A special junior level ticket is available for guests ages 21 – 29 for $75 for the main event. Tickets can be purchased at www.nashvillezoo.org or by calling 615-833-1534 ext 129.
The event, chaired by Michelle Roberson and Mary Wilson, includes honorary, patron and host committee members including Laura and John Chadwick, Sheryl Crow, Tracie and Scott Hamilton, Allison and Kirk Herbstreit, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban and Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Brad Paisley.
